The Conservative Party needs you!

Politicians on local and national levels make important decisions that shape the future of their towns, villages, and cities on issues such as health, education, tax, and energy policy. It is so important for politicians to represent the full diversity of our communities, making decisions that improve life.

We know the barriers facing women in politics, especially when getting started. We spend every day challenging them, breaking down walls, and delivering the support women need to stand for election and succeed.

If you are ready to join the Conservative Party but not sure where to begin, have a look at our Conservative Party Handbook we created with 50:50 Parliament. It provides information on how to get started in the party and the training and support available to you. Already a member of the Conservative Party? Our handbook also breaks down the selection process and directs you to the financial support you have available when you decide to become a candidate.

We need women like you to achieve equal representation. That’s why the team at Elect Her works to motivate, support, and equip women in all their diversity to stand for political office. So, if you are passionate about your local area and want to have a say in decisions, get in touch, join our free community, and read on!

*After every General Election, the Candidates Department undertake a review of the application and assessment processes. The party will firstly open the application process for those previously on the Candidates List, known as the Re-List. Once they have completed all of the Re-List Assessments they will launch their Full Assessment process.
