“This was a proper lighting bulb ‘well now it’s obvious’ moment for me. I’m speaking up in meetings and in public now, far more frequently and without that swirling stomach feeling that was rooted in insecurity, doubt and fear.”

Get Involved with a Political Party

Ready to get started on your political journey but not sure where to start? Choosing to join a political party, or making the choice to stand as an Independent candidate, is one of the first major steps in moving forward on your political journey. Look through our handbooks to see which party is right for you and understand the support and resources each party has, plus the selection process for when you are ready to stand.

We are still creating more political party handbooks, so if you don’t see your party, check back later this year as we continue to develop more handbooks.

We want to help you find your people, answer your questions, and equip you with the resources to learn more about what roles to stand for and how to do so.

Register to join our programme Involve Her, designed specifically for women who are Ready to Get Involved, which includes My Political Future, a self-led learning resource that will take you on a three part journey as you map out the next steps in your political journey.

My Political Future is for women who have made the decision to get politically active and want to understand what steps to take to make that a reality. It will you reflect on your passions and map out your journey to elected office, learning from the experiences of others and Elect Her’s resources.

Learn from other women as you consider your political future, and build a supportive network in the process.
