British Sign Language (BSL) General Election Resources
With the snap General Election set to be held on the 4th of July 2024, Elect Her has collected a variety of resources to support d/Deaf women in the UK on how to vote in the upcoming election.
This collection of resources is in British Sign Language, and will help you prepare for the upcoming election! We want all women to get more involved in democracy, and demystifying voting and the election process is key to ensuring every woman feels comfortable and confident in the polling booth.
These resources have been collected from The British Deaf Association, The Electoral Commission and Elect Her. These BSL videos cover various topics surrounding voting in the snap General Election, however, some videos will be specific to England and Wales, or Scotland.
This election is also the first General Election to introduce voter ID, which is required in order to vote. The resources on this page will cover what forms of ID are accepted, and how to apply for free voter ID if you need one.
