Activists and campaigners who fight day and night to bring about change for the communities they serve and belong to. They make their voices heard, they change communities and they influence changes to legislation that improves the lives of many. These are the women who belong in elected office.
We want to explore the bridge between activism, campaigning and elected office. Disabled women activists are at the forefront of change. They know their community, and they fight for better. They use policy, people power and networks to secure the changes to legislation needed to better the lives of many people.
These are the women we believe belong in elected office. Women who are connected to their communities. Women who use everything at their disposal to change policy and legislation for positive change. We need more Disabled women who have these valuable experiences in campaigning and activism in political office.
In this webinar, we hear about the experiences of Disabled women campaigners, activists and politicians. This webinar explores the ways in which campaigning, activism and politics interlink and looks at the various issues and concerns preventing Disabled women from seeking political office and progressing once they enter into politics.
