How To Be A Conservative Party Councillor

Are you flirting with the idea of being a Conservative Party candidate in the May 2022 elections? Are you figuring out your next steps in making your political ambitions a reality? Do you want to know more about the processes and procedures that enable you to stand for elected office? Then this workshop is for you!

This workshop will provide a safe space for women to demystify the process of standing for the party in all spheres of elected office. It will provide the opportunity for you to learn more about the party, language used in the party internally and the steps you need to take to put yourself forward for selection as a candidate ahead of the 2022 elections.

This workshop is a part of our Be A Councillor series, which aims to highlight the support available to you on your journey from inside the parties and other programmes at Elect Her. Most importantly, we want to support you to define your own next steps in standing for elected office. We will also be joined by a dynamic group of women from inside the parties who will share their knowledge and experience in order to help you develop your plans for standing.

We ask all workshop participants to read the Equal Power values which can be found here, and commit to respecting them within our workshop.

This is a women only event.

Elect Her is committed to hosting inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including women with disabilities, to engage fully in our conversations.
