HOSTING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT ONLINE GENDER BASED VIOLENCE FOR BLACK WOMEN

Join our sisters at Glitch for a free one hour training workshop, hosting conversations for Black women and their allies about online gender based violence.

Who's this workshop for?

Many people avoid social media because they fear online abuse. Are you one of these people? Would you like the confidence and knowledge to share your voice on social media platforms? Then this one hour free online workshop is for you.

About this training workshop

Black women are 84% more likely to be mentioned in abusive or problematic tweets than white women. Our Toolkit 2.0 it has been created and reviewed by experts to specifically help Black women and non-binary people who want to help end OGBV against Black women but may not know where to begin.

We campaign for both government and tech companies to implement systematic change, and raise awareness of online abuse so that we can make the online space safe for all. In the meantime, this workshop will enable participants to have meaningful and important conversations about OBGV.

In this one hour interactive session you will learn:

  • How OGBV impacts Black women

  • The ways in which you can use the Toolkit 2.0 for meaningful discussions

  • About the importance of digital self care and how to support Black women

The main imaged is of four women hugging and supprting eachother. The main text reads: Free workshop Glitch. Hosting conversations about online gender-based violence for Black women. Vital online training for Black women and their allies.

The impact of our workshops

In 2019, 100% of our workshop participants reported gaining skills to be safer and more resilient online compared to just 18% before the training.

93% left feeling safer expressing themselves online and 85% reported improved confidence levels using social media.
